  • New Company Startup

    Starting a trucking company can be complexed. We can help you navigate rules and regulations and make sure you are in compliance with FMCSA and the Department of Transportation. We can help you with your DOT number, federal authority, ICC authority, UCR, Plates and IFTA. 

  • Regulatory Filings

    • Company name change - this is when a company goes from a sole proprietor to an LLC or an INC, or they change the name of their existing LLC or INC. 
    • BOC-3 Filing - A process agent that is required for a federal operating authortity
    • KYU Reporting - This is done quarterly when the IFTA quarterly reports are due. It is for anyone that has a KYU number, they have to file quarterly with the state of Kentucky.
    • Federal or IL Authority Application on Reinstatement - When your authority has been revoked and need to be active again. 
  • For-Hire Authority Services

    Companies that want to haul for hire in Illinois as well as outside of the state need an authority in order to do so. MTA can help you in this process. 

  • Brokerage Authority Securement

    A broker authority is granted by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) that allows companies to operate as brokers and organize load deliveries between different shippers and carriers. You will apply online just like you do for your federal authority. It is $360 and a mandatory 21 day wait period. You will also need a $75,000 security bond or cash trust on file.

    This is for anyone who wants to apply for their title when they buy a tractor or trailer. 

  • Truck Licensing Services

    MTA’s licensing team is an excellent source for companies to:

    • Process IRP renewals, fiscal plate renewals and 45-day IRP temporary permits
    • Complete an IRP Supplement application with required documentation
    • Prepare title applications
    • File tax documents required by the Illinois Department of Revenue

    Our processing service provides free delivery of documents and pick up of the new credentials at the Illinois Secretary of State. (Illinois based companies only)
    IL SOS Power of Attorney Form

  • MCS-150 Update

    MCS-150 is a form required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to renew your USDOT number. This form will be used to update a company's registration with the FMCSA.

  • 2290 Heavy Highway Use Tax Filing

    The heavy highway use tax is due every July 1st or anytime you purchase a truck that will be plated over 54,999 miles during the year. MTA can electronically file your company’s Heavy Highway Use Tax (2290) for both new filings and annual renewals. (Lower 48 States)

  • Annual UCR Filing

    This is the annual fee for having an active U.S. DOT number - it is due by December 31 every year. MTA can electronically file  your Unified Carrier Registration (UCR) for both new filings and annual renewals. (Lower 48 States)

  • IFTA Tax Filing Services

    These are quarterly fuel reports that are due to the Illinois Department of Revenue for anyone that has an IFTA license. MTA can file your IFTA renewal, original IFTA application or request additional decals. We offer preparation and electronic filing of your IFTA quarter (Illinois based companies only).
